VetroBand – Floral Fly Trap
VetroBand is an attractive alternative to the standard roll type flycatcher. VetroBand works by playing to the natural behaviour of the house fly. Flies actively seek warmth and the light conditions that are found by a window. Once the fly reaches the window, it is enticed onto the trap by an attractant in the glue and the flower print. Once the fly lands on the glue, it’s trapped.
Vertoband has a small sticky band on the reverse of the strip to allow you to stick the trap to your window. This band won’t leave any residue on your window once removed. The glue used for catching flies is non-drying and will remain adhesive until the trap is full.
Once VertoBand is full, dispose of and install a new trap. A simple and effective way of controlling flies all year round.
How does Vetroband work?
Vetroband works by using a fly’s natural behavior. They will always fly towards windows due to the light, and a sticky trap placed in the window means they should always get trapped.
Does Vetroband use any chemicals?
Vetroband doesn’t use any chemicals to attract flies. It uses a floral pattern to attract the flies and a sticky glue to trap them.
How to Get Rid of House Flies
Flies in the house are unsightly, annoying, and can cause concern for health with regard to food. Prevention is often the best course of action; however, these can inevitably always be a problem due to location and what is in your area. Although they have a short lifespan, if left unchecked, they can reproduce in great numbers in a short period of time.
How to keep house flies out of the home?
These simple steps will help to keep flies from being attracted to your house:
Bins & Recycling – Ensure bins are sealed securely, where possible; food containers should be placed in bin bags and tied, should they not be recyclable. If containers can recycle them, rinse thoroughly, and place them in a secure recycling bin. Where possible, keep bins a good distance away from doors and windows.
Food & Water – Flies are as happy to feed off of our plate as we are; to that end, you should not leave food out. If it is, it needs to be covered. Food waste should be disposed of correctly, be it in a green waste bin or a secure food composting area in the garden. Water spills should be mopped up immediately.
Remove Dead Flies – You should remove dead flies as soon as possible; if not, they can become a food source for unwanted pests and insects, such as carpet beetles.
Windows, Doors & Access – Where possible, points of entry for flies should be closed, such as doors and windows. This may not always be possible; a great solution for this is to install fly screens.
